On December 30, 2015 at approximately 9:00 p.m. officers responded to the Sears store located at 1040 Annapolis Mall in reference to a shoplifting. Upon arrival, they spoke with the Loss Prevention Officers who advised they observed the suspect wearing a badge lanyard around his neck. As they continued to observe him, they saw him shoplift a $12.99 printer cord. The suspect was then taken into custody without incident.

The suspect was wearing a lanyard that displayed a Prince George’s County Police uniform hat badge with a Prince George’s County Police patch underneath. On the reverse side of the lanyard, there was a Metropolitan Police Department uniform hat badge. The suspect was taken into custody for shoplifting and for impersonating a police officer.
